There are strong indications that the Portharcourt Division of the Court of Appeal is about to upturn the July 2015 Judgement of the Federal High Court in Portharcourt which had sacked the 22 APC Elected Council Chairmen from Office.

PUO REPORTS recalled that Justice Lambo Akanbi, justice of a federal high court in Rivers state, had on July 9 2015 sacked the 22 local government council chairmen‎ of the APC in the state.

‎According to Akanbi, who also dissolved the local government councils, the election of the chairmen on May 23, was in violation of an earlier court order restricting the past government of Chibuike Amaechi from conducting the election.

‎The council chairmen, who are said to have been installed by Rotimi Amaechi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governor of the state, had ‎been locked in confrontation with Nyesom Wike, incumbent governor and member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), over their election in May 2015.

The Case is coming up today and there are strong indications that a Judgement may be delivered by the Three Member Panel of the Appeal Court Justices hearing the Case
