Delta State Police Command has arrested some notorious suspects allegedly involved in series of armed robbery and kidnapping among other crimes in the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Andrew Aniamaka, paraded the suspects on Wednesday at the Command Headquarters in Asaba, the state capital.

He said the arrests were made as police step up efforts to ensure the safety of lives and properties of residents in the state, especially during the ember months.

According to him, the suspects were arrested by the Eagle-Net Operatives based on a tip-off in Isoko area of the state where the team recovered gun-making machines and other items from them.

“Eagle-Net Operatives combed the Uzere/Aviara and Enhwe communities respectively, arrested the suspects and recovered exhibits which include machines used to fabricate guns,” Aniamaka said.

He assured law-abiding residents of the state to go about their normal activities, saying the Command’s battle against criminal elements remained on course.

The Command’s spokesman also asked them to provide the police with useful information to help hunt down other criminals and called on all warring communities to sheathe their swords and embrace peaceful dialogue.
