Chief Charles Ogbonna a Former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Commissioner Nominee has filed a N1 billion civil suit of defamation against Abia Facts Newspaper and its editor in chief Mr Emenike Iroegbu.
This suit HU/171/2017 is slated to be heard on the 16th of November 2017 at the State High Court in Umuahia, Abia State before His Lordship Hon. Justice C.E Anyim.
The suit emanated from Abia Facts Newspaper’s publication on June 30th 2017 with the title “CHIEF CHARLIE OGBONNA: ALLEGED HIGHHANDEDNESS, FINANCIAL MISAPPROPRIATION AS COMMISSIONER EXPOSED”.
Chief Charles Ogbonna is been represented by Barrister Okey Amechi (SAN), while numerous human right lawyers will be representing Abia Facts Newspaper.
