The quest by the sacked 22 Local Government Chairmen elected on the Platform of the All Progressive Congress(APC) in 2015 to occupy the Local Government Areas were put on hold Yesterday by the Court of Appeal sitting in Portharcourt .

The Court had fixed Yesterday (6th November) to deliver Judgement on the Appeal filed by the sacked 22 APC Elected Local Government Chairmen against the Judgement of a Federal High Court President over Justice Lambo Akanbi in 2015.

Justice Lambo Akanbi had on July 9 2015 Dissolved the Local Government Area Election conducted by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission(RSIEC) under the Administration of Former Governor Chibuike Amechi.

But the Panel of Appeal Court Justices yesterday asked the Counsels to the both Parties to address the Court on why it should proceed with the Judgement even when n Appeal had been entered at the Supreme Court by Counsel Representing the Rivers State Government.

“Going on with this matter while series of appeal are lying at the supreme Court would mean fishing in troubled waters- Justice Dongban Mensam  (JCA) Said

The Court subsequently adjourned till the Determination of an Appeal filed by the Counsel to the Rivers State Government.
