The All Progressives Congress in Abia state has dissociated itself from the purported petition written to the speaker of Abia state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Chikwendu Kali by the suspended chairman of the party, demanding the declaration of the seats of defected APC members to APC and PDP vacant.

This is even as APGA in Abia state restated that Revered Augustine Ehiemere remained suspended in the party, saying he (Ehiemere) has no locus and power to ask the speaker to declare the defected lawmakers seats vacant.

Addressing newsmen in APGA state headquarter in Umuahia on Monday, the secretary of the party in the state, Elder Onukwubiri Sunday, explained that the call for the suspension for the decamped APGA lawmakers was not the decision of the state and National leadership the party.

He described the suspended chairman as a stranger to APGA, warning the leadership of Abia House of Assembly not to act on the said petition sent to them by Ehiemere.

His words:”Ehiemere, the suspended chairman of APGA in Abia state has no locus to write anything on before of the party. He remained suspended in the party. Ehiemere has been suspended over one year now. We have an acting chairman in the person of Mr. Charles Nwanyawu. He should suspended 5th of November 2016″.

“I’m urging the leadership of Abia state House of Assembly not to act on the petition because we have formally informed the house. As far as this party is concerned,
Ehiemere is a stranger to the party”.

Recalled that the suspended chairman of APGA in Abia state had last week written to the leadership of Abia state, seeking the declaration of the seats of APGA defected lawmakers vacant. The defected lawmakers are, Chibuzo Okogbuo, Ikedi Ezekwesiri, Theophilous Ugboaja, who moved to APC while Kelechi Onuzurike, Ifeanyi Uchendu and Clinton Ebere.
