A Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday rejected an application filed by a former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mr Olisa Metuh for an adjournment of his case as a result of ill health.

The presiding judge, Justice Okon Abang, however, said the medical report was fraudulently smuggled into the court and did not give any reasonable explanations as to the nature of his illness.

He then stated that it was useless and only fit for the trash can.

Speaking further, Justice Abang declared that having abused his right, the court will no longer entertain any medical report from any doctor in Nigeria on behalf of Mr Metuh.

However, on the application for his bail to be revoked, Justice Abang said he will show compassion and suspend his decisions to revoke Metuh’s bail and hopes he turns a new leaf and attends his trial.

He also added that should the behaviour continue, he will be inclined to revoke the bail granted to Mr Metuh.

The case has been adjourned to February 5 and 6 2018 and the judge noted that every witness lined up by the defence must be in court on the said dates.
