Ikpeazu commends Cycling Awardee. …throws weight behind Abia weekend cycling.

The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu today at the Government House, Umuahia, played host to Miss Jacinta Okore who recently won a medal at the International cycling competition.

Miss Jacinta who hails from Isialangwa, Abia State, was the only girl that represented Nigeria in Bahamas in Cycling competition.

According to the Governor, Abia State can make so much out of cycling, apart from obvious health benefits, we can get laurels just as we have in the area of soccer. He said that he will support competitions so as to sustain cycling in the State.

In same vein, Dr. Ikpeazu congratulated another Abian who invented a chain-less bicycle. The bicycle has since been taken to Kaduna polytechnic for further research.

Dr. Ikpeazu charged him to start thinking of recreating many of those bicycles in Abia. He pledged Government’s support for him to succeed.

Ikpeazu threw his weight behind weekend Cycling competitions to help Abians keep fit and maintain healthy lifestyle that will promote higher life expectancy in the state.

The delegation was led to the Government House by the wife of the Deputy Governor who represented the South East Zonal Matron of Cycling Association of Nigeria Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu.
