The National Judicial Council(NJC) may this week announce the Suspension of the Acting Chief Judge of Abia State Justice Obisike Orji,PUO Reports has Exclusively Learnt.

Justice Obike Orji was Sworn In on Friday 26th January 2018 by the Abia State Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu following the Suspension of Justice Theresa Uzokwe as Chief Judge of Abia State by the Abia State House of Assembly.

The Suspended Chief Judge of Abia State Justice Theresa Uzokwe was accused by a Civil Society Group of Abuse of Office of the Chief Judge of Abia State, Participation in Politics among others.

“We have it on good authority that Justice Uzokwe’s was invited by her political allies, with a promise that she will meet with the President and Vice President in order to enhance her political fortunes. It is intriguing that Justice Uzokwe sees herself as the head of the Judiciary that is not an arm of the Abia State Government. Even when the Governor of the State and Government of the State did not arrange a welcoming party for the President, who was supposed to be a guest of his party members, Justice Uzokwe thinks otherwise” Dr. A.C.B Agbazuere Esq said in the Petitioned dated 22nd January 2018.

But Information available to PUO REPORTS has confirmed that the National Judicial Council is not pleased with the manner the State House of Assembly handled the Suspension of the Chief Judge of Abia State.

Our Sources at the National Judicial Council in Abuja on Monday revealed that the National Judicial Council may announce a Disciplinary action against Justice Obisike Orji for accepting the Appointment of the Position of Acting Chief Judge.

According to our Source,Chief Wole Olanipekun,Lawyer to the Governor of Abia State Dr Okezie Ikpeazu is already pleading before the National Judicial Council to avert the Suspension against Justice Obisike Orji, the Commissioner of Justice in Abia State Chief Ume Kalu(SAN) is also in Abuja due to the seriousness of the Issue .

However our Correspondent who visited the Premises of the Abia State High Court and the Abia State House of Assembly reports the unusual presence of men of the Nigerian Police Force and the Department of State Security Services (SSS).

One of the Policemen who spoke to our Reporter said they got signal from Abuja to cordon Off the Abia State House of Assembly and the Abia State High Court Premises.
