APC Chieftain denies link with militants

A chieftain of the All Progressives congress, Ambassador Chibuike Ukauwa has condemned the allegation by the agents of Abia state government alleging that he was recruiting militants ahead of 2019 general election in Abia state.

In a statement issued by his media office and obtained MAIN NEWS, Ukauwa dissociated himself from the allegation which according to him was intended to smear his reputation.

He said as a law-abiding and peace-loving citizen of Abia state and Nigeria, he cannot enagege in an act capable of causing breach of peace and security in the state.

Ukauwa said his aspiration and desire to enshrine good governance in Abia state can neither be intimidated, abandoned nor frustrated by frivolous and malicious propaganda.

He however urged the pubic to disregard the latest allegation which is designed by the PDP-led government to malign him.

The statement reads,”My attention has been drawn to the latest allegation by agents of Abia state government that I was recruiting militants ahead of 2019 general election in Abia state. To set the record and as law abiding citizen of Nigeria, I have no intention or link with militants with the aim to destabilize Abia state. I have interest of Abia at heart and will never be part of any plot to destabilize the state.

“This baseless allegation is to malign me. And I want to state it caterogically clear that my aspiration and desire to enthrone good governance in Abia state can neither be intimidated, abandoned nor frustrated by malicious propaganda.

” I urge the people of Abia to disregard the allegation from the opposition who have failed to provide good leadership to Abians.
