Abia State Government said its attention has been drawn to reports of payment of application fees of One Thousand Naira (N1,000) for employment by the local government service commission of Abia State.
Reports had filtered in Yesterday from Abia State Local Government Service Commission stating that Holders of BSc/HND and above (ie Grade level 8 and above) are to obtain application form at the Head office of Abia State Local Government Service Commission, Finbbar’s road, Umuahia on payment of the application fee of N1,000 (one
thousand naira only) at Ecobank Plc, Account number 1362002300.
But In a Press Statement released By Mr John Okiyi Kalu,the State Commissioner For Information and made available to PUO REPORTS,the State government said it never approved any such payment.
“We wish to state that the Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, did not approve any such payment meant for processing of the application for employment or conduct of employment tests”.
The State further directed the Abia State Local Government Service Commissioner to refund those who had already paid the reported fee for the employment Form
“Government hereby directs that such payment be stopped immediately and all those who have paid should be refunded by the Local Government Service Commission”.
