Scores of Women from Ohafia local government area of Abia state have risen in one voice to condemned the alleged protocol breach against the Abia deputy governor.
The women during a
courtesy call to the deputy governor in his Government House Lodge Umuahia described the act as a failed political coup against the deputy which enjoyed no support from people of Ohafia.
Receiving the women from his local government, the deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu thanked them for their show of love and solidarity stating that he was highly humbled by their act.
Sir Oko Chukwu extolled the role women played in the homes particularly in entrenching peace and unity and described Ohafia woman as an embodiment of a complete womanhood.
He urged them to maintained and champion the unity of purpose existing among the three component parts that made up Ohafia stating that appointments are made for the greater interest of the council not the component part one comes from and insisted that none would polarised council along clannish lines.
Sir Oko Chukwu described the solidarity visit to him since the June 2 protocol breach as unprecedented and show of support to him and the governor, urged the women to ensure block votes for the governor and PDP candidates come 2019 elections.
In his contribution, the Secretary to the State government, Dr Eme Okoro appreciated the women for their well thought out visit and wishes and described the the deputy as a blessed child.
Dr Okoro said that though while the governor has the right to decide who to runs with him, the ultimate decider remains God and that it remained the concession of all that the Ikpeazu/Oko Chukwu ticket should subsist for 2019 and that the ranting of some few individuals that do not plan good for the State hold no water.
Also speaking, the member representing Ohafia North state constituency, Hon Mandela Obasi said that what the planner of the protocol breach did was a political coup which failed and thanked the women for coming to identify with the deputy governor.

Chief (Mrs )Tessy Odum, former deputy transition committee chairman, a woman leader, Ohafia local government, Mrs Joy Ndukwe , State woman leader Ohaneze Ndigbo, MrsVivian Ezema, National Council of Women Society, Mrs Ugo Kalu, Hon Grace Agbara , Hon Nnenna Obewu Onwuka, Lady Nnezi Onuoha, lady Nnenna Ogbuagu and lady love ezema all condemned the alleged demand by some individuals for the replacement of Sir Oko Chukwu and described the protocol breach as a failed political coup against the deputy governor.
They disassociated themselves from the plan and reaffirmed their supported for Okezie Ikpeazu/ Oko Chukwu come 2019 assuring him of their votes.
They women described the state number two citizen as a humble and loyal man to his boss stating that, they are proud of him and he should not fear insisting no vacancy come 2019.
They appealed to those interested in the deputy governorship seat to look elsewhere and support their brother to complete his tenure.
Ohafia women stated that the overwhelming support the deputy was enjoying was because of his good works since his days as Speaker and stated that only God that can decide whatever one would be in life.
Also speaking, Hon Mrs Mary Joy Nwanzuku, the wife of the former Speaker, Ebonyi state House of Assembly and friend of the wife of the deputy governor, who incidentally was present during the visit commended the women for their love for the deputy governor and called on them to continue to support him and his boss come 2019.
