That Governor Nyesom Wike has demonstrated capacity in leadership, which has earned him the confidence of the people of Rivers state is no longer in doubt.

This was the observation of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters and Strategy, Barr. Emeh Glory Emeh, while speaking with newsmen on the sideline of flagg off of Kira-Nonwa-Barayira-Sime-Eteo road project in Tai Local Government Area on Saturday, Chief Emeh also expressed confidence that Governor Wike has done all that is required within the short but impressive period of three years, to earn the vote of the electorates of Rivers State.
His words: “If performance and keeping of promises are the yardsticks for determining who gets the confidence and support of the people in an electoral process then Governor Wike has no competitor in Rivers State as we walk towards 2019.
“You don’t need to be told that, this is the first time in the history of Rivers State that a governor is almost overshooting the benchmark for achieving promises of four years in three years. It will require a compendium of many volumes if we have to enumerate all the projects Governor Wike has completed during this period. For us in Rivers State, we have not had it so good”, the politician emphasized.the flag off ceremony, which was performed by Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, had the highest gathering of Ogoni people in one location
Speaking at the flag off ceremony, Governor Nyesom Wike declared that all the 23 Local Government Areas of the state have benefited from key projects in the last three years and commended the people of Tai Local Government Area for their patience over the years, noting that more projects will be executed in the area.

Earlier in a welcome address, Chairman of Tai Local Government Council, Dr. Jacobson Nbina, on behalf of Tai people had enumerated the challenges facing them, including representation at the Rivers State Executive Council, a request Governor Wike promptly obliged, adding that in a week’s time, a commissioner will be appointed from the area.
Also speaking, member of the House of Representatives Representing Tai/Eleme/Oyigbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Bari Mpigi said Governor Wike is the only person with the capacity to drive the growth of Rivers state. Though a member of the APC, the federal lawmaker maintained that Wike deserves a second term on the basis of his performance, adding that the issue of Rivers development transcends party affiliation.

In a goodwill message, Gbenemene Tua-Tua Tai, King Samuel Nne said Tai people are happy with Governor Wike for his commitment to the development of the state.
Flagging off the road project, Senator Akpabio said God has endorsed Rivers State Governor for rapidly developing the state, adding that Governor Wike’s numerous projects will win the 2019 election for him. Senator Akpabio described Wike as as a man of the people who has shown that if you cannot deliver with little resources, you cannot deliver when you have central bank.Wike has shown that there is need to increase derivation from 13 percent to 25 percent.

Meanwhile, responding to question on the secret of the governor’s Wike uncommon performance in the past three years , Barr. Emeh said Wike is God sent, coming at the right time when the state was in dire need of quality leadership.
“I do not know of any special magic or secret but what I know is that when a man is diligent in his work, the result is what you are seeing . My experience in the past years of working with two military and two civilian governors have placed me in a better position to appreciate when a manager is doing what he is expected to do.

“ Wike is one governor that has special trait of being mobile- to see things for himself. It will amaze you that a governor who goes to bed at 2, 3am, can wake up in good time and set out at 8am next day to follow up on projects.
“That is why we say, without difficulty, that in 2019, there is no alternative to Wike in Rivers State. You can see the difference yourself: while Wike is busy commissioning projects, AP is busy looking for chieftaincy titles from remote hamlets, from unrecognized persons who claim to be chiefs .

“As the Governor’s Adviser on Political Matters and Strategy, I can tell you that in the political history and coloration in Rivers State, this is the first time that the La creme of active politicians in the State, made up former federal ministers, senators, House of Representatives members, commissioners, political leaders and business executives are united behind one leader in whom the people trust and are well pleased with.

“ We have not seen this before. It is also unprecedented the number of non-governmental organisations falling over themselves as volunteer groups, mobilising support for Governor Wike’s re-election come 2019,” the political strategist posited with pride and satisfaction.
