-Politicians and other indigenes of Rivers State have been advised to remain steadfast and committed in their support for Governor Nyesom Wike and his government.
This declaration was made by the Special Adviser to Governor Wike on Political Matters and Strategy, Barr. Emeh Glory Emeh, while receiving in audience in his office in Port Harcourt on Monday, the President of Student Union Government at the Rivers State University, who is also the Chairman of Council of Students Union Governments in the state, Mr. Bestman Azuonwu.
The Special Adviser described Governor Wike as a leader with the milk of human kindness, who is permanently concerned about the welfare of students and entire citizens of Rivers State, stressing that vote for Wike in 2019 is vote for continuity, progress and prosperity of the state.
“When you work for a man who is committed to the well being of the people you are working for progress and prosperity of the governed.
This is where you can situate Governor Wike in Rivers State, and in the natural progression, we do not have any reason not to remain resolute in our collective resolve to ensure that we continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy in the manner we are doing by way of infrastructural and human resources development, particularly the speed with which the state is growing just only three years of Governor Wike being in the saddle.
“Your guess is as good as mine what his second term will look like because according to our local proverb, a good dance starts with the first step and a good market will be seen in the morning.
Governor Wike fits into this two proverbs, the reason why Rivers people are united in their opinion that there is no alternative to Wike”, the political strategist maintained.
Chief Emeh Glory Emeh thanked the Student Union Government leader for the effort they are making in ensuring that students – both indigenes and non indigenes in Rivers State obtain and guard their Permanent Voter’s Cards, declaring that Rivers State is PDP, and PDP is Rivers State..
In his remarks, the President of Student Union Government at the Rivers State University, who doubles as Chairman of Council of Students Union Governments in the state, Mr. Bestman Azuonwu, told the Special Adviser that the students endorsed Governor Nyesom Wike for a second term during the ceremony of commissioning of projects and flag off of the construction of the Student Union Government secretariat, because, according to him, this is the first time, apart from the numerous projects the governor has built and commissioned in the university, that a leader will recognize the need to build a befitting secretariat for the Student Union Government, an initiative, which he said the students will ever remain grateful to His Excellency.
He reiterated their earlier commitment to mobilizing all students in higher institutions in the state to support Governor Wike , who he described as an exemplary leader who has justified the confidence reposed in him by the good people of Rivers State when they voted overwhelmingly for him in 2015.
