The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Primary Committee, for the Osun State Governorship election, Governor Abdulazeez Yari, has described the process of the state primaries, as the best that can be used to determine true democracy.
Governor Yari stated this on Friday at the collation centre where he commended the electoral process.
He said APC has tried “this method now and may adopt it in future elections since it has proved to be hitch-free, less costly and devoid of violence”.
Mr Adegboyega Oyetola emerged as the Osun APC Candidate, ahead of the governorship polls in September.
He was one of 17 aspirants who participated in the exercise which took place in the 332 wards across all the Local Government Areas of the state.
Governor Yari expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the polls.
While the state chairman, Gboyega Famoodun explained that the APC will reach out to aggrieved party members to unite the party.
Some of the other aspirants include the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuff, and Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Dr Najeem Salam.
