The Battle of might between the Senator Representing Rivers South East Senatorial District Senator Magnus Ngei Abe and the Former Rivers State Governor and current Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation Rt Hon Chibuike Amaechi over who Controls the Structures of the All Progressive Congress(APC) appears to have been won and lost,as the National Leadership of the All Progressive Congress has asked the Minister to support the Governorship ambition of Senator Abe ahead of the 2019 General Elections.
Documents obtained by PUO REPORTS on monday from the National Headquaters of the All Progressive Congress(APC) revealed that the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress Comrade Adams Oshiomhole had summoned a meeting between Senator Magnus Abe and Mr Chibuike Amaechi to broker peace over the Battle of might by the two Political gladiators on the All Progressive Congress in Rivers State.
PUO REPORTS gathered that the Meeting which was attended by Senator Magnus Abe and Mr Chibuike Amaechi had Four Representatives each from the Two Camps and was presided over by the National Chairman of the APC Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
During the Meeting,the National Chairman it was gathered,asked the Transportation Minister to list the names of all the Past Governors of Rivers State and the Senatorial District where the hail from since the creation of Rivers State on 27 May 1967.
It was gathered that after listing out the names,non of the Past Governors of Rivers State had come from Ogoni Axis and Rivers South East Senatorial District,a developement which made the Chairman to tell the Minister that the odds are against him.
”Indeed,there was a meeting that the National Chairman called sometime lastweek,Amaechi and Abe attended the meeting with Four Loyalists Each”
”The National Chairman Oshiomhole asked Amaechi to list the names of the Former Rivers State Governor and where they come from,he indeed listed but at the end,No Ogoni had ever been Governor of Rivers State” A Top Leader of the APC told PUO REPORTS on Condition of anonymity on Monday.
The National Chairman of the APC after listening to the Minister passed a Judgement and asked Amaechi to Support the 2019 Governorship ambition of Senator Magnus Ngei Abe and nominate a running mate for him.
PUO REPORTS gathered that Mr Chibuike Amaechi although worried about the Decision of the National APC Chairman,accepted the offer but asked that two Senatorial Slots be given to him to produce the candidates for the Party.
It was not yet clear wether Senator Magnus Abe will accept to forfeit two Senatorial Slots,but one of the footsoldiers of the Senator Chief Allwell Onyesoh had already indicated interest for the ticket of the APC for Rivers East Senatorial which is also the home District of the Minister.
Already the Faction of the APC in Rivers State Loyal to Senator Magnus Abe is about opening a State Secretariat in Portharcourt,a clear sign that the Minister of Transportation may have lost out in the Battle.
