National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus has described the Late Attorney-General of Rivers State, Honourable Emmanuel Aguma (SAN) as a dedicated party man who worked diligently for the survival of PDP.

Speaking during a condolence visit by the PDP National Working Committee and Board of Trustees on Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike at the Government House Port Harcourt on Thursday night, Prince Uche Secondus said during the trying times of the PDP, Late Emmanuel Aguma applied his professional competence to assist the party.

He said that the late Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice of Rivers State served the party as the Chairman of the Screening Committee of the PDP during the National Conventions in Port Harcourt.

He said: “We received the news at the National Headquarters with shock. It was very painful, especially when we remembered his activities during the two national conventions in Port Harcourt.

“We recall that he was the Chairman of the Screening Committee of the PDP during those conventions. He did a very wonderful job”.

Secondus noted that the Late Attorney-General of Rivers State also served the state diligently, working as a pillar of support to the governor.

The National Chairman of PDP said even though it is a difficult moment, he noted that it will be difficult to summarise the positive contributions of the Late Attorney-General to the growth of the state.

In his response, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike noted that since 1998 Late Aguma remained a loyal member of PDP without defecting at any time.

He said: “Aguma never left the PDP since 1998 when he served as legal adviser to Foundation Chairman, Late Marshal Harry. He was one of the best Attorney-General “.

The governor reiterated that Aguma was committed and trusted, serving Rivers State to the best of his ability.

He said: “With your condolence visit, we are comforted that our friends are with us at this trying moment “.

While thanking the PDP National Working Committee and Board of Trustees for the condolence visit, he urged them to participate in his burial as a mark of honour.

He urged all members of the PDP to unite and work for the victory of the party in 2019 to honour the memory of Late Emmanuel Chinwenwo Aguma (SAN) as a committed party man.
