The Imo State governor, His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha has revealed that he entertains a morbid fear for the mismanagement of public funds, as he understands the spiritual, political and legal implications of not using public funds to work for the public.

The governor stated this while speaking to the newly sworn in executive chairpersons of the 27 LGAs of the State at the Sam Mbakwe Exco Chamber, People’s House, Owerri. Specifically warning the Chairmen to desist from all forms of corruption, the governor enlightened them that those who steal public funds are never comfortable either because they are haunted by the law or by their conscience.

According to the governor, political positions should be understood for what it is; “sincere service to the people” and public funds strictly for providing basic amenities for the people. He revealed that his belief in the principles of transparency, accountability and rule of law are the major secrets to his political successes.

He urged the LGA Chairmen to work so that they may justified by God and man for their good jobs and sincerity.
