It was a moment of joy and thanksgiving to God as the Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial Zone at the National Assembly, Senator T.A Orji donated three Siena cars to three churches that won the Choral competition he organized for churches within Umuahia and three other Siena cars to three State Town Unions in Umuahia.
Speaking before handing over the keys to the vehicles to their beneficiaries at Senator T. A Orji Constituency office Umuahia, Senator Orji said the donation of the vehicles was in fulfillment of the promise he made to them during the Choral competition held at Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia.
He also said that he extended his gestures to some state town unions in Umuahia in fulfillment of the promise he made to them. Senator Orji stated that the various state town unions have contributed their quota to the development of Umuahia and the state at large and also made a donation of an additional Siena Car to Enugu State Town Union, Umuahia Branch on behalf of the State governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.
Senator Orji explained that the vehicles were donated through his #DirectTouchInitiatve and advised the beneficiaries to put them in good use.
In their vote of thanks on behalf of the benefitting churches and State Town Unions, Rev. Emmanuel Igbokwe of All-Saints Anglican Church, World Bank Housing Estate Umuahia and Engr Ewo Silvester of Enugu State Town Union, Umuahia Branch, thanked the Senator for his kind gesture and promised that the vehicles would be put into good use. They also promised to reciprocate the Senator’s magnanimity by their continuous prayer for him and also by supporting his reelection bid.
The benefitting churches include;
* St. Finberr’s Catholic Church, Umuahia, 1st position
* St. Stephen’s Anglican Cathedral, Umuahia, 1st runner up
* All-Saints Anglican Church, World Bank Housing Estate, Umuahia, 2nd runner up.
The benefitting State Town Unions include;
* Anambra State Town Union, Umuahia Branch
* Imo State Town Union, Umuahia Branch
* Enugu State Town Union, Umuahia Branch.
The event was attended by a House of Representatives Hopeful for Isiala Ngwa North & South Federal Constituency, Dr. ACB Agbazuere, Special Adviser to the Governor on Project Monitoring and Implementation, Sir Pat Mgbemena, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Orientation cum Chief Liaison Officer to Senator T. A Orji, Chief Ifeanyi Umere, among other personalities.
