The All Progressive Congress (APC) has postponed its governorship primary election to Tuesday October 2nd .

The primary was supposed to hold on Sunday but was shifted to Monday because of late arrival of the primary election committee from the national secretariat in Abuja.

The primary election committee however arrived too late on Monday to conduct the primary the same day.

Addressing the aspirants and stakeholders yesterday at the party secretariat, the chairman of the primary committee,
Rt Hon David Yoha, said all the five member committee was in the state for the primary election but would not be able to conduct it till Tuesday morning.

He explained that since they arrived the party secretariat they have been in a meeting with the aspirants and have agreed to hold the election the next  day.

He maintained that the committee would use the direct primary in the exercise.

He said “what we are sent here to do is simple, with your cooperation, to conduct the primary that will usher in our gubernatorial candidate for 2019.

“We are going to do proper voting not just queuing up behind your candidates. We give the people the opportunity to decide who will represent them as Governor”.

The chairman said that the committee would use the party register from the national secretariat and advised members to come with their membership cards or their PVCs.

He also said that after voting the members should leave the venue since their agents would be there to represent them to avoid confusion.
