Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has congratulated the newly elected National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Mr Chris Isiguzo.
In a statement endorsed by his Chief Press Secretary, Enyinnaya Appolos, the Governor said the emergence of Isiguzo as the NUJ president will lead to better days for the pen profession in Nigeria.
According to the Governor, “the fourth estate of the realm at this point in the history of Nigeria naturally demands a pragmatic professional as leader who would stand up for good old investigative and objective journalism in order to accurately inform the people and help clamp down on fake news”.
He described Isiguzo as a creative and prolific journalist who will make Nigerians proud.
