The House of Representatives yesterday Passed into Second Reading the Bill For an Act To Establish National Security Trust Fund.

The Bill seeking an Act to Establish the National Security Trust Fund to Provide for the Maintenance of a Trust Fund that will cater for the Procurement of Military Security Infrastructure and Technology for Security Agencies in Nigeria; and for Related Matters (HB.1475) (Hon. Rimamnde Shawulu Kwewum and 7 Others) –

Hon. Shawulu Moved for the Second Reading of the Bill and was Seconded by the Member RepresentingBende Federal Constituency Nnenna Ukeje.

Hon. Nnenna Ukeje in her Contribution stated that the world has become an increasingly dangerous one and the military was the first line of defense for the citizenry, and there is a need for Nigeria to accelerate funding for the military as other proactive countries have done.

The Bill was voted on, passed for Second Reading and referred to the Committee of National Security and Intelligence.
