2019: South-South group pledges support for Atiku

The South South Community Association of Nigeria (SOSCAN) also known as Niger Delta Community, an umbrella body for all ethnic groups of the Niger Delta, has congratulated Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on his emergence as the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement, SOSCAN National Coordinator, Rev. David Vama Idabor, said Atiku has been a major player since the MKO days and its hope agenda.

He added that there is time for everything and today, it’s time for Atiku to lead the country.

He described Atiku as an experienced politician who will create a boom in the country’s economy.

”At this juncture of our existence, Nigeria needs a leader that can create a boom in the economy. We are concerned about the poor economy of the country and this is why we have decided to support Atiku for president in 2019,” he stated.

The group at a meeting attended by all local government coordinators and leaders have agreed to set up structures at the local level to promote the Atiku for president campaign.

SOSCAN Executive Secretary, Dr. Peter Ekong, said the association will also inaugurate the ”Love Niger Delta ” campaign. The project is slated for launch in Delta State.

Rev. Idabor also advised Nigerians to ”shine their eyes” and vote for a president that will boos the country’s economy.
