Coordinated by D-Source Connect , the groups declared that their support for Governor Wike is premised on his outstanding projects delivery across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.

Coordinator of the D-Source Connect, Dike Vincent Amadi stated that Rivers People have reiterated their support for the governor through the extensive walk.

He said: “We have come to thank the governor for redefining development in Rivers State. We have come to tell the governor thank you for making Rivers State a development hub. We have come to thank the governor for empowering our youths, women and providing jobs for our youths.

“We have come to say that come March 2019, Rivers Youths and people will come out in our numbers and re-elect His Excellency Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and Dr Mrs Ipalibo Harry Banigo”.

He added that in February 2019, Rivers people will join other Nigerians to vote out President Muhammadu Buhari.

The group condemned the invasion of the training camp of the Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Agency by the Nigerian Army.

“We are condemning in strong terms the invasion of the training camp of the Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Agency. That programme is meant to empower the youths.

“The enemies of democracy who do not want Wike to succeed have gone to the camp to chase away youths of Rivers State who went for training “, he said.

In his remarks, Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Hon Obinna Anyanwu said Rivers youths trooped out enmasse to declare their support for Governor Wike.

He said that Rivers youths will work for the re-election of Governor Wike and defend their votes to ensure he is not rigged out.
