As the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) yesterday gave a green order for Political Party’s to kick-start campaigns, the battle for the soul of who controls the affairs of the Abia State Government House can be summed to be a Clash of the Titans.
The Three Major Political Party’s in Abia name the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) All Progressive Congress(APC) and the All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA) have all experienced internal party crises.
Two Days ago,19 Members of the Abia State Working Commitee of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) announced the Suspension of its Chairman Chief Johnson Onuigbo over accusations of high-handedness and failure to call a State Working Commitee Meeting, although the State Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu is said to have intervened in the matter.
From the Conducts of its Congress to the Conduct of the Primaries of the Party, the All Progressive Congress have been a battle field of itself,Chief Ikechi Emenike has gotten the legal approval of the court, but the National Leadership of the Party had continued to defend the candidature of Businessman Uche Ogah.
Similar fate facing the All Progressive Grand Alliance is what is facing the APC,Chief Chikwe Udensi had continued to enjoy the support of the Court while Dr Alex Otti had continued to enjoy the support of the National Leadership of the Party.
On the List with the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) Dr Okezie Ikpeazu is the Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP),Dr Alex Otti is the Governorship Candidate while DR Uche Ogah is the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressive Congress.
Alex Otti and Uche Ogah are not ready for issue based campaign, while Uche Ogah is banking on Federal Might to be Governor in 2019,Alex Otti has asked his supporters to go violent during the Election in February.
The Incumbent Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu appears to be the only pone banking on the Abia Electorate for his re-election in 2019.
Only February will determine the Titans that gets the Day
