The monarchs of Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State, led by HRM Eze Ezo Ukandu, have endorsed Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for a second term in office and called on all his challengers to wait till 2023.

The Ezes who made their position known during a Yuletide visit to the Governor at his Umuobiakwa home, commended him for his developmental strides across the State and assured him that the people of the area respect Abia Charter of Equity, hence, will support him to complete his two terms in office as was the case with his predecessors from Abia North and Central Senatorial Zones of the State respectively.

In an address read by HRH Eze Okechukwu Ahia, the monarchs called on Governor Ikpeazu to ensure early completion of the projects started in their area by his administration and expressed appreciation to him for responding swiftly to the gully erosion menace that affected parts of the area recently.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Isuikwuato Local Government Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM Eze Ezo Ukandu, while pledging the support of the traditional rulers and the people to the Governor, implored him to ensure that he delivers more democracy dividends to the people of the state.

“We are happy with you and the way you have administered the state since 2015. Your humility and focus on development projects is something to be emulated by all who seek public office. While we are here to celebrate Christmas with you and assure you of our unflinching support, we plead that you also look into the requests of our people concerning ongoing and new projects in our area”, the revered monarch said.

Responding, Governor Ikpeazu described the visit and assurance of support from the monarchs as the best Christmas gift he has received so far.

“I sincerely appreciate your visit and assurances of support, especially knowing that your visit is at your instance and out of love for me. You have given me the best Christmas gift this year and my personal commitment to you and the people of Abia State is that we will continue to do more for our people”.

Forty six traditional rulers from the area were present during the visit alongside the Chairman of the Local Government, Chief Nnamdi Udueze and the Peoples Democratic Party candidate for the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal House of Representative, Sir Jude Udeachara.
