Governor Samuel Ortom today stressed that it has become clear that the All Progressives Congress, APC, lacked the capity to liberate Nigerians from the shackles of disease, ignorance and poverty.

He spoke at Tombo Community Secondary School, Buruku, during the continuation of his campaign for reelection round the state today.

The Governor stated that almost four years after the party was voted into power the three killers as well as insecurity have increased throughout the country hence the need to bring back the Peoples Democratic Party pointing out that the party has learnt from its mistakes.

He appealed to the people of the state not to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari again because he was no longer in control of his administration but has rather allowed a cabal to hijack government machinery as identified by his wife.

The Governor commended the wife of the President for speaking the truth saying that as a man he has responded to her call for men in the country to arise and arrest the situation.

Former Senate President, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, urged the people to vote for all the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state in line with the resolve of Nigerians across the country to vote for the party in the next elections.

Dr Ayu stressed that from the large turn out of Nigerians at campaign rallies of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar across the country which he personally witnessed it was clear that they were determined to vote for him and his party.

He stated that rather than improve the fortunes of the country the APC has made Nigeria the headquarters of poverty in the world and that it must be rejected at the polls.

Benue North West Senatorial candidate of the PDP, Mr.Orker Jev, stated that people of the zone have nothing to show for voting a particular candidate for the last twelve years, promising that if given the mandate, he would do better.

Highlights of the event included the defection of all the executive committee members of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in the area into the PDP.

State PDP chairman, Sir John Ngbede, received the new members and handed them over to Governor Ortom who, as party leader, promised them equal opportunities.
