A candidate of the All progressives Congress for Bende Federal Constituency mr Ben Kalu may be facing criminal charges bothering on impersonation and forgery. Following the leak of a document forged by the candidate in which he claimed to have been endorsed by Ndi Eze Ogo Igbere, the traditional body has finalized plans arraign him in court.
Speaking when they were visited by Prominent concerned elders of Igbere community, Ezeogo elder O. E Ukaegbu expressed displeasure in the shameful criminal act by Mr Ben Kalu who he referred to as a dubious, deceitful and desperate politician. Elder Ukaegbu wondered how me Kalu could have been so criminally minded as to go to the extent of forging a document with a falsified signature and brandishing same as a document emanating from this noble body. He vowed that Ndi Ezeogo will ensure that mr Benjamin Kalu faces the full punishment for this criminal act.
Another member of the Ezeogo body who spoke during the meeting queried the sanity of the APC candidate. “How can we Ezeogos from Igbere endorse a man who has threatened to shutdown a free education school if elected? How can we endorse someone as dangerously desperate as Ben when we have our own illustrious son in the person of Dr Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso also contesting the same position”?
The Ezeogos assured Dr Anyaso and other elders at the meeting that they could never throw their weight behind Ben Kalu knowing that he is dubious and unelectable. The Ezeogos however, prayed for De Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso and adopted him as their candidate in the forthcoming.
Chief Jerry Kalu who led the concerned elders to the meeting vowed to give the Ezeogos any form of assistance required to make sure mr Ben Kalu is brought to book for his criminal act.
Other prominent elders of Igbere who attended the meeting included Chief Emeka Onuoha, Eze I. C Dimgba, Barr. Ifeanyi Iboko, Dr Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, Chief Chuzzy Iboko and many others.
