…Refuses to attend Abia APC townhall meeting in Aba

In what could be best described as an indication that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not on ground in Abia State, the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, for the second time, failed to attend a town hall meeting organised by Abia APC at the Aba Sports Club, Aba.

As early as 10am in the morning, APC members, including their factional governorship candidate, Mr Uche Ogah and his running mate, Hon. Martins Azubuike, among others, were at the Aba Sports club waiting for the arrival of the Vice President.

It was gathered that former governor of the state, Chief Orji Kalu was in a private residence in Aba waiting for signal before he could proceed to the venue of the town hall meeting. All of them waiting to no avail as the Vice President didn’t show up.

A reliable source said that Osinbajo’a refusal to attend the Abia APC townhall meeting may not be unconnected with the alleged abduction, torture and detention of one of N-POWER’s beneficiary and Abia N-POWER Ambassador, Mr. Felix Kennedy Obisike, by a gang led by Barr Monday Ubani at the orders of Uche Ogah.

Prof. Yemi Osinbajo who is in charge of N-POWER and a good friend of the current administration in Abia was said to have been worried about the possibility of embarrassment by the beneficiaries in Abia who protested yesterday in Umuahia and insisted they would not cast their votes on Saturday if Mr. Felix Obisike is not released unconditionally.

All the APC chieftains including the Governorship candidate, Uche Ogah spent all day at the Aba Sports club venue of the event to no avail.

This shows that the APC at the center has little or no value for the APC in Abia.

It will be recalled that the Vice President has visited Abia State on several occasions, interacted with the business community and stakeholders in the state in company of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and the Minister of Trade & Investment, Mr Okechukwu Enelamah.
