New NYSC DG, Ibrahim resumes duty, promises robust welfare package

Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has taken over the mantle of leadership of the National Youth Service Corps.

He assumed duty today during a colourful and epoch-making ceremony attended by a mammoth crowd of NYSC staff.

In his speech, the new Director-General promised to sustain the tremendous achievements of his predecessors and take the Scheme to enviable heights.
He added that his vision involves the sustenance of effective utilization of the potentials of Corps Members and pursue a technologically driven organization.

“I will improve on the welfare of Corps Members and staff as well as their security. I will strengthen the existing collaborations with stakeholders and rejig the NYSC ventures in line with the NYSC Act”,

“I want to urge the staff to be committed to work, shun malpractices and corruption while teamwork and fairness to all will be my watchword”, Ibrahim said.

The out-gone Director-General, Major General Sulaiman Zakari Kazaure in his address thanked God for a successful tenure as the helmsman of the 46 years old Scheme.

He commended the management and the entire staff of the Scheme for unalloyed support and cooperation during his three years and twenty-three days in office.
“I enjoin you all to accord the same level of cooperation and support you gave me to my successor.”, Kazaure said.
