The twelve newly elected members of the Abia House of Assembly while endorsing Hon. Chinedum Orji for the Speakership position of the incoming 7th Assembly anchored their reason on introducing and bringing-in of fresh air into the leadership of the House.
This fresh air they asserted is personified in one man, a high flying political collosus and an enigma of a sort, Hon. Chinedum Orji, the Majority Leader of the current 6th House of Assembly. Chinedum Orji is a notable grassroots politician that is loved by people around him and those who have had contact with him in one way or the other. His uncommon leadership style is unparalleled. This he has established through his programmes and activities, including Direct Touch Initiative, an initiative that has affected many Abia people positively, both within his immediate Constituency and beyond. He is one legislator that has touched the lives of people around him, especially the youths of Abia State.
In terms of achievements, he has been able to do what some federal lawmakers have not been able to do for their constitutuents. Infact, Hon. Chinedum Orji’s method of representation transcends constitutuencies and affects people of other senatorial zones. This law maker has all it takes to deploy his experience for the betterment of the State. Of course he is not only vibrant and youth-friendly lawmaker, he is equally intelligent, calm and soft-spoken.
In addition to that, Honourable Chinedum Orji posseses legislative experience that would aid in the discharge of the constitutional duties of the State House of Assembly. He has paraded an aura of confidence in handling his current position of Majority Leader in the House. As a Speaker, his competence and dexterity would be experienced in the House.
A close look at his qualities show that he would galvanize the State House of Assembly for optimal governance of Abia State. With Hon. Chinedum Orji as the Speaker, the members of the House of Assembly would work in tandem with the policy thrust of the executive to make Abia great.
Hon. Chinedum Orji would certainly lead the House to ensure necessary legislative backings are given to the five pillars of development enunciated by the Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu to take Abia State to enviable heights
As the stage gets ready for the emergence of IKUKU, he himself is poised to lead a peaceful House, devoid of rancour, a House driven by vision and passion. He desires to lead a House that would be alive to its responsibilities, a legislative House that would be an examplary institution among its contemporaries. It is a sure bet that Ikuku would bring-in fresh air in the incoming leadership of the 7th Assembly its Speaker.
