UMUAHIA – In a heartwarming act of generosity and community support, the Kelvin Jombo Foundation (KJF) on Monday, May 5, 2025, fed 1,000 residents of Umuahia in celebration of the 54th birthday of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu.
The outreach, which took place at the popular Isi Gate city center, drew a large crowd as members of the Foundation distributed food packages and shared goodwill messages with the public.
Speaking on behalf of the organization, the KJF team led by Promise Uzoma Okoro, informed residents that the initiative was a direct directive from the Foundation’s founder, Chief Kelvin Jombo, who decided to mark the occasion by giving back to the community in honour of Rt. Hon. Kalu.
“This effort is not just about celebrating a birthday,” the team stated. “It is a reflection of the values of selfless service and compassion that Chief Jombo represents. Chief Kelvin Jombo believes that one of the best ways to honour such a leader is by touching lives, particularly among the less privileged.”
Many beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the gesture, commending both the Foundation and the Deputy Speaker for their commitment to the welfare of the people.
Chief Kelvin Jombo, a philanthropist and community leader, has consistently used the platform of the Kelvin Jombo Foundation to support education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation efforts across southeastern Nigeria.
