Ikpeazu Charges Nigerian Army On Professionalism

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has commended the Army Hierarchy for putting in place competitions aimed at enhancing and improving physical fitness, leadership qualities, discipline and cooperation to get them better prepared for more challenging tasks and responsibilities in their chosen careers.

Dr. Ikpeazu who made the Commendation while declaring Close the 82 Division Warrant Officers and Senior Non – Commissioned officers Competition held at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Barracks, 14 Brigade, Ohafia described the training activities as very timely especially now the country is bedevilled with series of security challenges and expressed optimism that they will make the best out of the opportunity to enhance their capabilities in handling future tasks.

The Governor represented by his deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu further lauded the Officers and Men of the Brigade for not only exhibiting professionalism in the conduct of the operations, especially in the just concluded 2019 General Elections in Abia State and also the General Officer Commanding 82 Division , the Nigerian Police and other Para Military Security Agencies for the synergy and cooperation that have ensured that Abia State remain safe and peaceful.

He described the competitions as a very exciting and keenly contested one by the Warrant Officers and slSenior Non – Commissioned Officers who have given a good account of themselves and congratulated the winning formations for emerging victorious in the competition.

Earlier in their remarks, the General Officer Commanding 82 Division , Enugu , Major General Abubakar Sadiq represented by his Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Clement Apere and The Brigade Commander 14 Brigade Ohafia , Brigadier General Solomon Kumapayi said the competition is aimed at enhancing the discipline and operational effectiveness of the officers as well as promote cooperation and Esprit De – Corps amongst officers of the Army command.

Formations under the 82 Division , Nigerian Army Enugu participated in the weeklong competition with the (1st) position going to Enugu Command while the 14 Brigade Ohafia clinched the second position with the Calabar Army formation emerged 3rd in the competitions.
