A civil society organisation, known as the Coalition of Abia Interest Groups, has lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for nominating a renowned oil magnet, Mr Uche Ogah, for ministerial position from Abia.

The group made the commendation in a statement issued by its President, Mr Okey Nwachukwu, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Umuahia on Sunday.
Nwachukwu stated that during its state council meeting in Umuahia, the group expressed gratitude and appreciation to the president for nominating Ogah.”

Nwachukwu, who is also the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth
Wing Worldwide, said that by nominating Ogah “the president clearly shows that he understands the right calibre of Nigerians that can move this country forward.”

He stated: “We wish to inform Nigerians that Ogah is a man if integrity, good conscience and selfless servant leader, who understands the issues confronting the country.

“We are confident that with people like him as minister, there is hope for the country.

“Indeed, Ogah’s nomination has given hope to Abians that the president means well for Nigerians.”

Nwachukwu further noted that Buhari had proved that he had the capacity “to source and uncover capable hands that can rescue Nigeria from its current economic malaise.”

The group described Ogah as a prominent Abia son and the highest private employer of labour in the state after the government.

It further stated that Ogah worked hard to ensure that the All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded landslide victory over other political parties in his Isuikwuato Local Government Area during the general elections.

“We want to inform the president that had other politicians contributed as much as Ogah in moving APC forward in Abia, the party would have swept all the elective positions in the state.

“The nomination of Ogah caused widespread joy all over Abia and we want to assure the president that he will not disappoint him and Nigerians,” the group further stated.
