A Former Deputy National Youth Leader of the Labour Party South East Comrade Chiemela Amanze Egege has condemned the recent report of Police/ Army brutality in ABA the Commercial nerve centre Of Abia State.
EGEGE who is currently a Special Assistant on Protocol to the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly Rt.Hon Chinedum Orji said the recent brutality of some Youths of ABA by some Security Agencies was Capable of heating up the polity and turning a Peaceful ABA into a war Zone.
Speaking to Reporters in Enugu on Wednesday, the Youth Leader queried where the Army Officers derived their powers to invade on the Personal Life of some residents of ABA by shaving off their hair.
“I want to Condemn with the strongest Possible terms the recent reported brutality of my people by Men of the Nigerian Army and Police”
“Two of my brothers namely David Ojuu AGBAI and Isaac Chukwuma are lying critically ill in the hospital as a result of Army brutality on innocent Citizens”
“These actions by the Security agencies are capable of heating up the polity in ABA if not checked by Police and Army High Command” He Said.
Speaking further,the youth Leader called on the Abia State Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu and the Member Representing ABA North/South Federal Constituency to intervene before the situation gets out of hand.
The youth Leader called on Youths in ABA to remain law abiding adding that no one has the right to brutalize another as a result of choice of Hair.
