A Chieftain of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Oyo State, Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi, popularly known as Auxiliary has attributed the attack by the robbers who invaded the students hostel of the university of Ibadan on Sunday to insensitivity of the federal government to horrible state of insecurity in the country.

As we join our Muslim brothers and sisters in celebrating Eid-EL-Kabir, may God grant us success, good health, promotions, long life and prosperity in return. It’s celebration of God’s mercy that Allah demonstrated when HE replaced a son with a ram. This year may we comprehend that all of us have our source in God and value each other whatever we be Christians or Muslims. I also give thanks to Allah that no live loss in the attack on the UI community by armed robbers early hours of today, I pray God to return to them in millions whatever the robbers might have taken away and heal their wounds” Auxiliary stated.
Reacting to the attack on UI students hostel few hours to the celebration of Eid-el Kabir on Sunday, Auxiliary described the attack as an embarrassment to the nation and a reflexion of how insensitive the federal government is to lives and properties of even our children. “I am disturbed and badly embarrassed hearing the news of another attack within the spate of two months on UI students’ hostel by some gunmen suspected to be armed robbers. So, even schools are no longer safe for our children again in Nigeria. Where do the government expect us to move our children to or how do they expect good learning under such volatile environment?

I am also appealing to NURTW executives in all the 36 states and FCT to over their best to reposition our Union and make it enviable Union to rival those in overseas. Let me also advise all drivers to drive with much caution during Sallah period as people prepare to return to their places of work after Sallah. For those traveling during this festive period I ask Almighty Allah to protect and guide you safely through every mile.
