Ebonyi Governor, Umahi To Appoint 171 Widows As Liason Officers

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Nweze Umahi on Monday while meeting with stakeholders of the state disclosed that among his soon to be appointed 342 Liason officers, 171 will be widows. This is in his tireless effort to keep food on the table of the less privileged.

Recall that Governor Umahi few days ago approved the appoinment of 181 and another 200 as Executive Technical Assistants, Senior Technical Assistants and Technical Assistants. The Governor disclosed that more appointments are on the way as he will be having about 4000 appointees when party executives are added.

He rolled out the conditions for the appointment and what the beneficiaries stand to gain as follows, “you must show us 1 hectare of land as a proof that you are busy with something tangible.

“The DC coordinators must do a meeting every month with the entire stakeholders to do a review of what have happened within the month under review.

“ETAs, STAs and TAs not to be recieving direct salaries but through their MDAS which will be obtainable through their accessment.

“The MDAs must open a register where the appointees must be clocking in and out to ensure that they do their work daily.

“The DC Coordinators will provide us with names of 50 out of school children. We will profile them and send them back to school and we will be giving them four number of school shirts, books, shoes with other incentives that will keep them in school etc.

“The Coordinator must provide us their fathers name and the community they are coming from.

“We also want to send back to school those who are advanced by age but are not educated, we will be getting 50 names per DC for adult education.

“The coordinators will provide us 100 names of farmers, we will send them to Agriculture Vocational College after which we will empower them to go and practice what they have learnt.

“Another category is the brillant young boys and girls who are specially talented, those ones that can develope an aeroplane with cartons, they are to be trained in the vocational school, we even have Borden school there.

“50% of management committee members must be women”, he added.
