The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, has charged Christians to pray for those in authority so that God will help them to do more in impacting positively on the people.
The Speaker gave this charge at Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Isuikwuato, Diocesan Women’s Fellowship Harvest/Award on Sunday, 22nd of September, 2019.
The Speaker who was represented at the occasion by his Chief of Staff, Nze Kenneth Ezeigbo, was presented with an Award by the Church as Grand Commander of Empowerment. The Award was presented by the Bishop, Rt. Rev. Geoffrey Uzochukwu Kanu.
Responding, the Speaker dedicated the Award to God for giving him the grace to be in a position where he can empower others. He thanked the Church and the women immensely for finding him worthy of the prestigious Award and assured them that the honour will spur him to do more. He also used the opportunity to encourage the women on their good roles and service to both the Church and society in the upbringing of children as well as support to their husbands.
Continuing, the Head of Abia Legislature commended the Church for the harvest celebration and enjoined them to use the special occasion to thank and pray to God for our leaders.
Top dignitaries and awardees who attended the occasion include Hon Barr. Emeka Okoroafor, Member representing Isuikwuato State Constituency, Sir Lucky Johnson, a business mogul among others.
