Abia Speaker Charges ABSU Female Students On Good Moral Behavior

The Speaker of the Abia state house of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji has tasked female students of the Abia state University on living a decent and productive life while on campus.

The Speaker gave this charge today during the Female Students Day which was tagged WOW – Women of Worth.

The Event also themed: NEEDLE & THREAD was organized by the Office of the SUG VICE PRESIDENT in conjunction with ABIA STATE UNIVERSITY FEMALE STUDENTS LEADERS ASSOCIATION (ABSUFsLA).

Speaking through his Deputy, the Speaker reminded the female students gone are the days when it was said that women’s education ends in kitchen and hence the need for them to take their studies seriously so as to be better women in the future.

He also enjoined them never to indulge in prostitution and other acts capable of denting their image, the image of the school and that of their respective families while making a handsome donations to support the students.

In her own speech, the President of ABSUFsLA/SUG Vice President, Comr. Ugoala Chinaza Amanda stated that the vision of ABSUFsLA is to groom female students worthy in Character and intellect. Spread the gospel of good morals and produce female leaders of integrity.

Others who spoke at the event included the Wife of the Governor who spoke through the wife of the Deputy Governor, Chief Elder Erondu Uchenna Erondu who represented the Governor amongst other notable guests.

– The wife of the Deputy Governor of Abia state, Lady Vivian Oko Chukwu who represented the wife of the Governor, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu.
