Governor Samuel Ortom has commended members of the Independent Print-media Publishers Association of Nigeria, IPPAN, for their sustained support for his administration even in the face of numerous challenges.
The Governor who made this commendation today at the Benue Peoples House Makurdi while playing host to the Association also solicited more cooperation of the body in the area of dessimination of information especially to the rural areas of the state.
Gov. Ortom who was one time National President but now Grand Patron of the organisation described IPPAN as a trade union that has stood the test of time and encouraged them to diversify into other areas in order for them to properly stimulate the economy.
He promised to partner with the Association and assist where necessary for a better professional and business outing.
Earlier, the National President of IPPAN, Mr Babs Usiegbe, lauded the outstanding contributions of the Governor to the Association in several areas including patronage, periodic interventions in internal conflict and other forms of support, saying he had done wonderfully well.
He stated that as an association, they were very proud of their own who as Governor has not only tackled some infrastructural challenges in the state but was also effectively tackling the insecurity situation of the state adding that as a media organisation, they will draw his attention from time to time in areas of public importance.
