It is no longer a doubt that the Honorable Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development and 2019 gubernatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress(APC), Dr. Uchechukwu Ogah last week, visited the present Governor of Abia state, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu after the latter recently appointed as Minister into President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Executive Council(FEC).
Speaking to the audience who were present at the Exco Chamber in Government House, Umuahia, while welcomed by Ikpeazu, Dr. Ogah in his simple remark, pledged that his Ministry would collaborate with the Governor towards tackling myriads of challenges besetting Abia and the country as in general.
According to Dr. Ogah, I quote, “Politics is over. It’s time for governance. As an Abia son, I must support the Governor and his team for the good of the people of the State and as a Minister.
“I must ensure that issues concerning Abia State receive topmost attention at the Federal Executive Council. We must work together as Governor and as Minister to find ways to collaborate for the benefit of the people of Abia State”.
Dr. Ogah also informed the Governor that he was representing President Muhammadu Buhari at the funeral of the son of the Late Major-General Aguiyi Ironsi.
Remarking, Ikpeazu said Abia must come first in terms of the welfare of the people of the state. He congratulated the Honorable Minister on his appointment as a Minister of the Federal Republic and described him as “Our Ambassador at the Federal Executive Council.
The Governor also told the Minister of the unwholesome activities of some mining companies who carry on their business in the state without recourse to the health, safety and environmental implication of their activities on the people of the State urging him to use his good offices to ensure that mining companies who are issued licenses at Abuja must commit to good practices of safety and community relations.
He drew the attention of the Minister to the menace of erosion in some parts of the State, calling on him to use his good offices to ensure that funds to the state from the Ecological Office actually are put to good use for the good of our people.
However, Ogah’s recent visit to the Governor last week, has nothing to do with him romancing with the leaders of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP). It was proper and courteous for him to visit the Governor, pay his respects as the father of Abia. This particular act by Dr. Ogah, political pundits have opined and lauded the Minister for demonstrating the spirit of cooperation towards ensuring dividends of democracy gets to the doorsteps of Abia people , despite party affiliation.
Does Ogah’s visit to Governor Ikpeazu, anti-party activities? It is capital NO. His visit to the State Government House, as courtesy demanded was to interface with his home State Governor towards sharing ideas on how to develop Abia, which has badly suffered backwardness occasioned by the visionless and clueless successive administrations of PDP in Abia.
Dr. Ogah’s visit to Ikpeazu, has not and cannot deter his zeal, passion and sincerity to steer the ship of Abia state, as well as salvaging hundreds of Abia masses from hunger, penury and hardship allegedly imposed on the people by the ruling PDP-led government.
Again, there is no doubt that since Dr. Uche Ogah’s visit coupled as a politician, few unscrupulous and insignificant fellows have been commissioned and sponsored to carry out all manners of media attacks ranging from character assassination, campaign of calumny, name calling, propaganda over his rising political profile.
These disgruntled elements have been settled to also embark on the destructive mission in the social media to portray Dr. Ogah as anti-APC, Buhari, just because, they are threatened by his(Ogah) acceptance, popularity among the citizens of Abia and beyond to represent in the national level.
There is no iota of truth or claims making round in many quarters that Dr. Ogah was hobnobbing with PDP. He is a businessman, politician for that matter who have traveled and made friends both in APC, PDP, APGA. So, Ogah is entitled to attend events if invited, be it in APC, PDP, APGA, SDP. It has nothing to do with anti party activity.
Just on Sunday, one Ihedigbo Mbaukwu who was contracted, who are also one of those political buccaneers had on facebook, sees politics as a game of enmity, launched a senseless attacks on the person of our Revered Dr. Uche Ogah, Just because, he attended the thanksgiving service of a PDP chieftain, Senator Uche Ekwunefe in Awka Anambra state. So, how does Dr. Ogah going to church thanksgiving to felicitate with friends that invited him constitute anti party activity?
Dr. Uchechukwu Ogah, We know is a peaceful and respectful person, so there is nothing political in felicitating with a friend. Dr. Uche Ogah is staunch APC chieftain and should be disassociated with any form of anti-party activity. Infact, his unalloyed support for APC is unprecedented; therefore your reckless propaganda can never stop Dr. Uche Ogah from attaining the climax of political sphere.
Ihedigbo mbakwu your level of envy for Dr. Ogah can never be overemphasized.
Apart from politics, Dr. Ogah has been a successful businessman unlike you that this that sycophancy and cheap propaganda is the only means for survival.
Finally, I submit by saying that Dr. Ogah is not romancing with PDP. Those peddling such lies are only ENVY. Nothing but the truth. Because, Dr. Ogah has the charisma, capacity and integrity to assist President Buhari to achieve his Next level of developmental agenda for the people .
So, no amount of propaganda or negative antics by selfish individuals can thwart the genuine dream of Dr. Ogah in bringing his wealth of experience in building new Nigeria and Abia for the betterment of the people.
