Unlike what naysayers, Blackmailers and Opposition elements posited ,when Rt .Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji assumed office on the 10th of June 2019 as the 11th Speaker of the 7th Abia State House of Assembly, the reality in Abia is that one of the good things that happened to the Second Term Adminstration of Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu was the emergence of the current Speaker of the House.
I was there on the 24th Day of December 2019 in Government House when the Governor assented to the 2020 Appropriation Law which took effect in Abia Yesterda 1st January 2020, the Governor made a categorical statement that” This is my first time since assumption of office ,of signing into Law the Appropriation Bill by this Time”. For me the governor was very clear and made who ever cares to listen that he maintains a very good, robust,cordial, personal and friendly relationship with the Speaker and members of the Abia State House of Assembly.
On his New Years Message to Abians, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu laid emphasis on the smooth synergy between him and the Current 7th Abia State House of Assembly under the Speakership of Rt.Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji.
The Governor dedicated a Paragraph to appreciate the Leadership and members of the Abia State House of Assembly over their legislature impetus which saw the passage of the 2020 Appropriation Law and subsequent signing of same law within the same year it was Presented.
“On the 24th of December, 2019, I signed into Law the Abia State 2020 Appropriation Bill passed by the Abia State House of Assembly which has now become Law and which takes effect from today. This is the first time in a very long time that Abia State will be running a Budget cycle that starts on January 1. It is a signpost of our determination to do things right and lead by example. I thank the Speaker, Leadership and Members of the 7th Assembly for working with us to attain this milestone”
Unlike other states where Lawmakers will use the Passage of the State Budget to harass the Executive into submitting to their caprices, the current Abia State House of Assembly under the Leadership of Rt.Hon .Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji understands that the best way Government can smoothly function, is when there is Synergy among the tiers of Government.
The Opposition elements in Abia had prognosticated a rancorous relationship between the Governor and Mr Speaker, but events has proven them wrong.
Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji will continue to use performance to shut up the mouths of negative critics.
Days are gone when this Democrat, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji was been misunderstood, with his current performance at the Abia State House of Assembly, you have no other option rather than applaud his political Ideology.
Those whose penchant are Political Gossips, Propaganda and blackmail will soon loose relevance, because the synergy between the Abia State House of Assembly under the Leadership of Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji and the Executive Under Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu cannot be broken.
