Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has commended the people of Ikwuano for their sustained support to his administration.
The Governor made the commendation when he paid a private visit to the National Organizing Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Col. Austin Akobundu rtd, at his home town, Ahaba-Oloko in Ikwuano Local Government Area.
Governor Ikpeazu who described Col. Akobundu as a gift of Abia State to the PDP at the national level expressed hope that the New Year would renew impetus and vigour for better performance in the governance of the State and that of Col. Akobundu at the party leadership. He therefore urged the PDP National Organising Secretary not to relent in being a good ambassador of the State at the national level.
Also speaking, the Transition Committee Chairman of Ikwuano LGA, Deacon Stanley Ojigbo, thanked the Governor for his vision in building the Enyimba Economic City and for inaugurating a committee for the establishment of a University of Science and Technology in Aba.
Deacon Ojigbo who described the Governor as a true democrat who appreciates the values of democratic norms, further thanked him for the visit assuring that the people of Ikwuano would continue to support him and his laudable projects in the State.
Welcoming the Governor, Col. Austin Akobundu rtd, congratulated Dr Okezie Ilpeazu on his various election and court victories and prayed God to continue to help him surmount the challenges of governance.
He further commended the Governor for appointing Deacon Stanley Ojigbo as the T. C Chairman of Ikwuano LGA, describing the Deacon as the best elected Chairman Ikwuano LGA has ever had, and expressed confidence that he would perform again this time around. Col. Akobundu thereafter called on Abians to rally round the Governor to enable him deliver on his mandate. He said the PDP was poised to retrieve power from the opposition and ensure the party maintains the lead.
The visit attracted the presence of the member representating Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Chief Sam Onuigbo, member representing Ikwuano State Constituency, Mr. Stanley Nwabuisi, Deputy T. C Chairman, Pastor Ekeleme Ikeije, Chief Henry Ikoh among others.
