The Office of the Deputy President of the Senate has expressed shock and sadness over the demise of one of its legislative aides, Mr Emmanuel Ayiweogenmine.

Mr. Ayiweogenmine also known as ‘Big Fish’ passed on in the early hours of Monday after a brief illness.

The deceased hailed from Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.

A former staff of OPI Construction Company Limited, the deceased also worked with the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC) before going into politics.

Describing Ayiweogenmine as a “fiercely loyal and dedicated aide who would do everything within his legitimate power to protect the ideals and principles of political engagements that I stand for”, Senator Omo-Agege said his death came as a rude shock not only to him but also to many other persons who have had cause to interact with him over the years.

He prayed that the Almighty God should grant his soul eternal rest.

Ayiweogenmine is survived by a wife and children.

Burial arrangements will be announced by the family.

Signed:

Yomi Odunuga,
Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, to the Deputy President of the Senate.
