TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
(RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT).

I weep within, at the sight of the Uncompleted Monorail project in Port-Harcourt especially when SO MUCH can be achieved from it.

I commend the efforts of the initiator of the monorail project, for thinking through this superb and innovative means of transportation, but sadly, the project couldn’t see the light of dawn.

I understand the good intentions the then Governor had for his Rivers people but it pains to know that Millions of dollars are left hanging on the pillars without hope.

I perceive that the MonoRail project may stay unattended to for a while, that’s why this post is made.

As the wind of project blows across the State, I want call on those in Authority to reconsider the monorail project, not as an abandoned project, but a project that its first phase has been completed and awaiting the second phase.

MY SUGGESTION!

Why don’t we convert the Monorail to an Amusement park/fun station/Pleasure park or something more fascinating?

My reason is that the initial plan has been defeated which is the monorail(as a means of mobility) not getting to its predetermined destination as in the building plan.

I suggested an Amusement park because it could be a serious way of generating revenue for the State and this will add glamour to it too as Portharcourt being one of the very few states in Nigeria to own a monorail aside Calabar.

THE PLAN

This is it, after finalizing the monorail project(done the finishing touches), an Amusement park is expected to be built just somewhere around the axis in which the monorail is situated, properly equipped with state of the art games or a mini Disneyland park.

Now in accessing the park, this will only be done through the Monorail. So you buy your ticket at the Train station, enter the monorail from the take-off point into the park for the rest of the excitement and it brings you back. Note, Personal cars and other mobility Will not be allowed in, strictly monorail.

As funny as this may sound, I bet it will bring back to life the monorail agenda in another form, the money will be made by the Government and everyone goes home happy and it will even attract tourist around Nigeria and beyond.

Note: This is not Politically motivated but from a concerned Rivers youth.

Share till it gets to the Governor of Rivers State.
