On Monday Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has given reasons some COVID-19 confirmed cases are not in the isolation center.

Gov. Makinde while confirming that the State recorded fifty-two cases on Sunday said some patients have mild or moderate cases.

According to Gov. Makinde, only cases with severe symptoms or cases that can’t self-isolate safely at home are managed in the state’s isolation centres.

He added that the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State today is 912.

Gov. Makinde tweeted, “Some people have asked why all confirmed COVID-19 cases are not in our isolation centres.

“Based on the protocols we have been using to manage confirmed cases in Oyo State with satisfactory outcomes, only cases with severe symptoms or cases that can’t self-isolate safely at home are managed in our isolation centres.

“A significant number of the confirmed cases have mild to moderate symptoms, and so those who can self-isolate at home safely are allowed to do so.

“The COVID-19 confirmation tests for fifty-two suspected cases came back POSITIVE. The cases are from Ibadan South East (12), Oluyole (8), Egbeda (6), Ibadan South West (5), Ido (3), Ibadan North East (3), Ibadan North (3), Ona Ara (2), Lagelu (2), Saki West (2),…

“Itesiwaju (2), Ogbomosho North (2), Ibadan North West (1), Ibarapa North (1) Local Government Areas.”
