APC lawmakers defy Covid-19, troops to Ajimobi’s residence to condole with family

On Saturday the Lawmakers elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State paid a condolence visit to the home of the immediate past Governor of the State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

The lawmakers on the visit includes those who are currently representing the state at both the National and State Assemblies.

Recall that Ajimobi ruled Oyo state for two consecutive terms of eight years (8), died in a Lagos hospital at the age of seventy 70.

The lawmakers while on the visit said they were in the Oluyole residence of the former Governor to condole with the family.

The delegation includes a former Senate Leader, Senator Teslim Folarin who is currently representing Oyo Central at the National Assembly, and Senator AbdulFatai Buhari, who is currently representing Oyo North.

Others are members of the House of Representatives among; Hon. Olusegun Odebubmi (Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere), Hon. Akeem Adeyemi (Afijio/Oyo East/Oyo West/Atiba), Hon. Musliudeen Olaide Akinremi (Ibadan North), Hon. Akin Alabi (Egbeda/Ona-Ara) and Hon. Shina Peller (Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/ Iwajowa).

The rest are members of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Alarape Asimiyu Niran (Atiba), Hon. Wunmi Oladeji (Ogbomoso North), Hon. Isiaka Kazeem Tunde (Oyo East/Oyo West), Hon. Bamigboye Jacob Abidoye (Oriire) and Hon. Oyeleke Simeon Adegbola (Ogo-Oluwa /Surulere)

Folarin who spoke on behalf of the lawmakers said Ajimobi’s death came as a rude shock to all the lawmakers.

He said “Our great leader was full of life and radiated good health the last time we met. In fact, he looked younger than his age.

“Though our Oga is no more, his legendary achievements as a public administrator lives on. He was undoubtedly and universally acknowledged as the Architect of Modern Oyo State; his records in the governance of Oyo State will be very difficult to match”.

“We salute our fallen leader for his qualitative services to Nigeria and the APC. We will always remember him for his hard work, dedication and commitment.”
