Former National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC Adams Oshiomhole has accepted the dissolution of Party’s National Working Committee in good faith.

The former Edo State Governor was on suspension as a member and National Chairman following Appeal Court judgement at the time the dissolution was announced on Thursday last week.

A faction of the National Working Committee loyal to him had appointed former Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi who is now dead as Acting National Chairman. Members of the faction had rejected the dissolution and threatened to go to court to seek redress.

They insisted that the Party’s emergency National Executive Commitee meeting sanctioned and attended by President Muhammadu Buhari, Governors and the leadership of the National Assembly among others was illegal. They also claimed that Victor Giadom who convened the meeting as the Party’s Acting National Chairman was not empowered by the APC Constitution to do so and that the mandatory 14 days notice required for such a meeting to hold was not given.

With Oshiomhole’s acceptance of the dissolution it is expected that there will be no court case to challenge the action of the National Executive Commitee that also constituted a National Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee headed by Yobe State Governor to pilot the affairs of the party.
