Leeds United have clinched promotion back to the Premier League, after Thursday’s 1-0 victory over Barnsley at Elland Road, left West Bromwich Albion needing to win against Huddersfield Town this evening.

Their 2-1 defeat at the John Smith’s Stadium, means the Baggies can no longer catch the Whites in the Sky Bet Championship and thus automatic promotion is now secured.

Leeds United will return to the top-flight next season, ending a 16-year wait, following relegation back in 2004.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have had a fantastic campaign on the pitch, setting a new club record points tally of 87, with two games still left to play.

There have been many memorable moments throughout, from the opening win at Bristol City, the infamous 5-4 victory against Birmingham City and of course Pablo Hernandez’s late winner at Swansea City.

The win against Barnsley on Thursday was Leeds’ 26th in the division this season, with the 1-0 win, ultimately securing the club’s package back to the top-flight.
