Sanwo-Olu Appoints PSSDC Director As Permanent Secretary

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has appointed the Director, Training and Head of Local Government and Security Studies at the Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC), Mr. Adeniran Waheed Kasali as a Permanent Secretary in the State Public Service.

Kasali’s appointment, and that of 16 other directors, was announced on Thursday via the Head of Service circular Ref No: CIR/HOS/21/Vol.1 dated 28th January 2021.

According to the statement signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, the appointees were selected after a thorough screening, which lasted over two months, resulting in Mr. Governor’s one-on-one interview of the shortlisted candidates.

Muri-Okunola expressed confidence that the appointees possess the qualities, competence and experience required to serve as Permanent Secretaries in the Lagos State Public Service, noting that the appointments take effect immediately while deployment posts of the appointees will be announced in due course.

Felicitating with Mr. Kasali, the Director-General of PSSDC, Dr. Senukon Olufunmi Ajose-Harrison, prayed for grace, wisdom and enablement for the appointee to succeed and excel in his new role, stating that his appointment was a reward for diligence, excellence and dedication to service.

Reacting to accolades from the Director-General and members of staff, the new Permanent Secretary, thanked the Governor for deeming him fit for the appointment. He also expressed appreciation to the Director-General and staff of PSSDC for the inspiring and congratulatory messages, saying his appointment only signalled the beginning of better and greater things for the Centre.

Adeniran Waheed Kasali joined PSSDC as a Senior Programmes Development Officer in 1998, after a stint at the defunct Lagos State Post-primary Teaching Service Commission and the Michael Otedola College of Education (MOCPED) Noforija, Epe, Lagos, Nigeria.

He holds a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a Masters in International Relations from the University of Ibadan. He is a member of several local and international professional bodies.
