The Deputy Chairman of Bende Local Government Area Hon. Promise Uzoma Okoro this afternoon Celebrated his 30th Birthday with the Pulpils of Alayi Central School Alayi in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.
The Deputy Chairman who was accompanied to the School by the Ward Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Alayi Hon. Iheme Elijah was Received on arrival by the Supervisor for Education in Bende Local Government Area Mrs Ugochi Ijioma, the Head Mistress of the School Mrs Nmaju Nnenna, the Teachers and the Pulpils of Alayi Central School.
In his welcome address, the Head Teacher thanked the Deputy Chairman for Celebrated his First Birthday as Expected Deputy Chairman of Bende Local Government Area in his Alma Matta (Alayi Central School Alayi).
She enumerated some of the Challenges facing the School to include Desk for the Pulpils, School Hall, Classroom blocks that needs Renovation and pleaded with the Deputy Chairman to come to the aid of the School.
Speaking after cutting his Birthday Cake, the Deputy Chairman Hon. Promise Uzoma Okoro said his decision to celebrate this year’s birthday with the Pulpils of the School, was a demonstration of his love to the school where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate.
“I decided to come here today to Celebrate with my younger brothers and sisters as a mark of love and demostration of my commitment to the school that added to my Success today”
“I am here to also encourage you people today, years ago, I was a Pulpil here from a very poor background, but today, am back as Deputy Chairman of Bende Local Government Area, it shows that if you Study hard and believe in yourself, you can also he here in few years to come as the Governor of Abia State” he stated.
In his Response to the plea of the Head Teacher, the Deputy Chairman promised to attract the attention of Government to the nature of the School facilities and revealed plans to expand the Alayi Central School School field before the expiration of his tenure as Deputy Chairman.
High point of the event was the Distribution of hundreds of Excercise Books to the Pulpils and teachers by the Deputy Chairman.
